In spring 2012 Marc Piollet conducted the highly acclaimed and spectacular world premiere of C(h)oeurs at Teatro Real: a dance theatre of the Belgian choreographer Alain Platel which stands – like you can tell from the title – for hearts and choirs. It was such a big success that the work was finally shown on German television 3sat, the German culture TV program ZDF Aspekte reported about. C(h)oeurs is also available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The musical base of C(h)oeurs are compositions of Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi at the occasion of their 200th anniversaries. Their fantastic choir compositions are the inspiration for Alain Platel’s choreography who creates together with his ballet company “Les Ballets C de la B” a new form of art with elements of theatre, dance and music.
